Name, URL & Tagline
- KiKi & Tea is spelt with 2 capital Ks and an ampersand where possible.
- The accepted abbreviation is KK&T
- The URL should be written as kikiandtea.com or https://kikiandtea.com

- The tagline is “for the love of writing…” with a lower case f and an ellipsis
Post Titles
Post titles should be as descriptive as possible and contain the keywords of the post, while also trying to pique the interest of the reader. Avoid misleading or secretive titles as these can be considered click bait. Titles should be written Title Case where each word (excluding conjoining words) starts with a capital letter. Acceptable punctuation in a title includes comma, colon, brackets and a question mark.
Examples of good titles:
- Brad Pitt Marries Angelina Jolie in Private Ceremony
- Recipe: Chicken and Vegetable Soup
- 7 Tips To Grow Your Hair
Examples of poor titles:
- You won’t believe who got married!!
- Chicken soup
- Grow your hair.
Headings
Heading 1 should be used for major headings. The heading at the top of each post is Heading 1 therefore Heading 1 should only be used when it replaces the post title at the top of the page. e.g.
Chicken Soup Recipe
Heading 2 should be used when a major heading does not override the original heading, e.g.:
Ingredients
Heading 3 looks too similar to Heading 2
As You Can See
And I sometimes use Heading 4 to make a point
It’s smaller than the others
Images
- All featured images must be at least 800 pixels wide
- The featured image will appear in full size at the centre top of the post without being inserted
- All images must be used within legal guidelines, there are some great resources online which can be found
- Horizontal images look best
- Bright colours work best with the white background of the site
- Multiple images should either be centred or alternate between right and left
- The “Title” “Alternate text” and “Caption” should contain informative information about the picture that will help people find us on Google. Where you would like a funny caption, the Title and Alternate Text should still be descriptive e.g. Bondi Beach at Sunset.
Videos
Videos should be inserted centred at 600px wide.
Links
Links should be inserted linked to a description of what the link goes to, known as “anchor text”. When inserting a link, ensure the “open linking a new window/tab” box is ticked and provide a description of the link.
Reviews & Recipes
When posting reviews and recipes, please start the title of the post with “Review: …” or “Recipe: …”. It is appropriate to add the type of review (e.g. “Book Review: …” , “Movie Review: …”) and Book Reviews should be in the following format: “Book Review: ‘Title of Book’ by Author”
It is important to note that when posting recipes or reviews, all quotes must be credited. This includes movie quotes, summaries taken from websites, or recipes re-written without alteration. It is best to link to your original source if the source is online.
