We’ve almost made it to the end of the year!
Best
I’ve been enjoying life a lot lately. My podcast is growing, I’m writing more regularly and I’m looking forward to hosting my in-laws for Christmas and three weeks off work. I also set up a home office for myself this week. It’s modest, but it’s all mine. One day I hope to work from there full time.
Worst
I was shocked and saddened on Monday to hear of the death of Stella Young. Stella was a fantastic writer and comedian, best known for her disability activism and her work as the editor of the ABC’s Ramp Up website. She packed a lot into her short life, and I know I’m not alone in having learned a lot from her. Stella’s friend and fellow activist Carly Findlay wrote this lovely piece in tribute.

Around The Web
I loved this speech by Shonda Rhimes on following in the footprints of the black women who came before her, I shed a tear when two of my role models, Margaret and David, walked off hand in hand at the end of the last episode of At The Movies and was appalled at the empathy-free narcissists profiled in Inside the Mind of an Online Troll.
On KiKi & Tea:
This week I put together a holiday gift guide, Sally, who’s had it rough lately, wrote an important reminder that we all need help sometimes and showed us her fabulous-looking recipe for calamari paella and Bek gave my credit card palpitations when she wrote about some fabulous plus size party dresses.
KiKi & Tea is taking a Christmas break from today until 5 January. We hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you in 2015.
