This Week: Work, Work, Work

14-08-07 Pic of the week

This week has been a busy one. It can be summed up in one word: Work. But it’s been a big work week, which leads straight to my best.

Best: This week in my day job we launched the first graduate-entry master’s in the new discipline area I’ve been working on. It’s been crazy busy, but also amazing to see it go live on the website, knowing how much we’ve all been through to get it up.

Worst: I have to make a really hard decision with, as far as I can see it, no good resolutions.

This week’s pic (top) epitomises my week.

Around the web:

Buzzfeed Aus wrote the definitive ranking of Australian children’s TV shows of the 90s. I was thrilled that my favourite, Round The Twist, scored #1 but I thought  there were some others in the wrong place. Ship to Shore, for example, should be way up there!

The best blog post I read this week was about Scars on a blog called Boob In A Box which I hadn’t heard of prior to this but Mrs Woog shared it on Facebook and I was blown away. Go read it, I’ll wait.

Are you done now? Wasn’t that amazing?

On KiKi & Tea

This week we kicked off with a post about Netflix coming to Australia and why it probably won’t be as good as you hope. This week’s tip was to smile, even if you don’t feel like it. I got a bee in my bonnet about people not letting other people make mistakes, and then we had an anonymous piece from a woman who is experiencing discrimination in her workplace.

Our most popular post was an oldy but a goody – Does makeup feed our insecurities?

How was your week?

Oh my goodness, I am so bloody excited!! I woke up this morning to find that you’d linked to my post about my scars here – such a compliment for a newbie blogger. Thank you for sharing my post, it was incredibly difficult to publish but the support I’ve received has made me so pleased that I did it.

It’s an amazing feeling when you take a chance at posting something and it resonates with people. It’s what makes blogging worthwhile! Keep writing, I’m loving it! xx

My week has been pretty good.

Best: After recently becoming a coffee drinker thanks to the Nespresso pod machine at work (and yes, I know it’s not REAL coffee), DG and I bought one for ourselves last night. It’s pretty and red and I love it.

Worst: I’ve been pretty tired lately so I’ve been getting a bit cranky and taking it out on DG which he doesn’t deserve. At the moment, Albie has a lot of…feelings. It’s two weeks until his appointment to be desexed and it cannot come soon enough! I hope he calms down afterwards.

Bahaha! I laughed out loud at the thought of your randy rabbit.

Nespresso isn’t too bad as far as being “real” coffee to be honest. It’s no barista coffee, but it’s not drip coffee. Besides, I drink all kinds of coffee, including drip, percolator and plunger.

I wish I was still finding it amusing, now I’m at the point of feeling sorry for the poor thing haha

Last weekend I ordered my first coffee while out for breakfast, I was very proud of myself haha

The best thing that happened to me this week was discovering that Brian Blessed once punched a polar bear in the face… I think that’s one of the best things I’ve ever heard of! :)

    I don’t think I had any “worsts” this week… everything’s hunky-dory at the moment!
