This Week: Preparing For ProBlogger

suitcase

This week reality has set in. Guys, I’m going to ProBlogger in two weeks. Have I booked my flights? No. Have I picked the sessions I want to attend? No. Have I even bought a suitcase? No. I’ve come to the realisation that outside of buying a ticket and spending months being really excited I’ve actually done nothing I need to do to be ready.

Best: Starting to get sorted for ProBlogger. Also having new people start at work. I’m working with a group of others to help train the newbies and it’s incredibly rewarding. Building their confidence and seeing people shine in the role is worth the additional hours and work that we put in.

Worst: Being sick. I got downed by a harsh cold and it’s been a struggle. I’m feeling pretty fresh now but for some reason I keep losing my voice. Not ideal when you work in a call centre.

Around the web:

I love longform articles. I try to make time to read some each week because they give you depth into a topic that you don’t get a lot on today’s media. I read one this week that has stuck with me. It discusses what happens when a young person identifies as being a pedophile. It’s not light reading but is a topic I think we need to give more time to.

While I know it’s not necessarily good form to plug the website you write for, the best blog post I’ve read this week was by Tamsin. I honestly don’t know how she summoned the courage to write those words, but we are all better off for it.

This week on KiKi & Tea:

We had an anonymous post about discrimination in the workplace. Maree shared the best bits about growing up in the 80s. And Vanessa did us all (read: me) a favour by sharing tips on .

How was your week?

I’m not ready to go yet! I’m not prepared! I haven’t even THOUGHT about preparing for ProBlogger yet! Luckily I booked my flights ages ago, and booked our accommodation, so at least we’re sorted on that front.

Thank you for saying my post was good :) xx
