Today’s Tip: Smile

Weird, I know. But when has anything I’ve ever said been normal?

To me, smiling is better than laughter.

You see, even if you are sad, you can still laugh. There may be something that tickles your funny bone and you laugh, even if you don’t feel like it. Sometimes you can’t help but laugh.

But smiling is hard. If you are sad, smiling is the last thing you do. Whatever it is that is making you sad blocks that smile from appearing.

I strongly believe that every day you should have something to smile about. For me it’s pictures of my niece and nephew or pictures of my cats. And maybe the odd pic of Benedict Cumberbatch. Ahem.

It’s picking up my favourite book to start reading again. It’s putting on my favourite movie or episode of a tv show.

Make sure you have a stockpile of things that make you smile. That way if you have a sad day (which we all invariably do), we have something handy to make us smile.

What do you have that is a guaranteed smile generator?

Did you know that smiling releases endorphins? So, yes, this is a great tip…

I don’t know if I have anything in particular that makes me smile… but I do know I smile a lot, so I must be doing something right. :)

Oh, and Cuppy – you have a lovely smile… but you know that!

I actually think laughter is good for the soul. I probably think that because I often smile when I’m sad. But either of these things really help to keep you in a good mood, and pick you up when you’re feeling down. I’m feeling particularly discouraged this morning, but I know that smiling at my colleagues and laughter during the day will make me feel better.

My bunny makes me smile, so do pictures of cute animals and babies haha DG makes me smile, Harry Potter makes me smile. Many things actually make me smile so I feel pretty lucky in that respect.
