We Need Your Help To Create a New Tagline for KiKi & Tea

We need your help.

A tagline is crucial to placing your business within the market. So how do you choose one? That’s where so many of us get stuck.

A tagline should express:

  • Your mission
  • Your promise
  • Your brand

A blog, just like any business, needs to capture the attention of its audience, it’s desired customers: You

KiKi & Tea has been running for over 2 years now and during that time has undergone many different changes. Some of them you will have noticed, some probably not so much. We have had features of the website come and go, changes to the layout and design (many of which were due to breaking the theme), writers join and (sadly) leave.

KiKi & Tea has changed from being the community blog space we originally intended and has become something completely different.

To that end our original tagline “Our space is your place” doesn’t apply so much anymore, and was always a little cryptic to begin with, but our latest one “for the love of writing” doesn’t seem to quite resonate either.

I asked the blogging community to give me feedback on the current tagline and on my suggestion for the new one – “read something new”.

I got varied responses, from “What does KiKi & Tea actually mean?” To “Opinion. But considered. That’s what I think of when I think of KiKi & Tea.” (Thank you, Kelly Exeter) with a recurring suggestion in between: ask your readers.

So that’s what I’m doing – I’m asking you.

What do you think of when you think of KiKi & Tea? Can you come up with a tagline for the site? And while we’re on the topic, what else would you like to see around here?

Sharing stuff you want to know!

Hmm, interesting! Although when I first read that I thought you said “Sharing stuff you don’t want to know”. But that’s probably just me being a chronic oversharer 😉

    I don’t mind “Read something new” – It’s not bad…

I like Kelly’s observation – “Opinion. But considered.” – so, maybe something like “KK&T – for Considered Opinion” but that’s kind of formal.

My facetious suggestion would be “Opinion without all the snark…”

I thought of “Real People, Real Opinions” but when I googled that, it gets used a lot.

I have to say, when I think of where you’ve taken KK&T I think of things like “Friends, Fun, & Ideas.”

…or maybe “Friends, Fun, & Opinion”

I also wonder if “KiKi & T” makes much sense anymore – maybe you could rename the site to something more personal, like “T’s Place” (but I think that’s a cafe chain in the US”

Maybe “Miss T’s Place”? or even just “Tamsin’s Place”…

Anyway, that’s some suggestions from the old “ideas guy” – I’ll go back to being retired now…

(gawd, this is giving me flashbacks from when we tried to think of a name in the 1st place!)

“Real people. Real Opinions” does get used a lot so I’d rather stay away from that. Considered opinion is going in the right direction, but I’m not sold.

The name of the site will not be changing.

      • http://johnanthonyjames.com/ John James

Yep, I like the idea of “Considered Opinion” but it’s too serious – sounds like a newspaper…

        Consider your opinion

        Opinion to consider (bleh)

        Inform your opinion (tautology?)

        Share your opinion

        Consider a new opinion

        Change your opinion

        Fresh Opinions

        New Ideas, Fresh Opinions

        Fresh Opinions, New Ideas

        …and I’m done!

Riffing off your site name and teacup image, what about “Have some opinion with your tea”. It’s the type of website I visualise people reading on their tablets while enjoying a lazy Sunday breakfast, or perusing while sitting at their favourite local cafe.

That’s exactly the picture I had in mind when I painted the typewriter and the teacup!

      • Pelican Pie

Did YOU paint the typewriter and the teacup? Wow, talented lady.

Yeah I did! I had a specific logo in mind so painted it :)

    1. ‘For the love of reading’ it’s all about the reader isn’t it? We write to be read. Reading over a cup of tea.
    2. ‘Fresh words with tea’

I love for the love of reading! You’re so right!!
