This week I had a bit of a scare. Actually, a lot of a scare. I was sick and at home, caught the dreaded lurgy, and went downstairs to change my pillow over for a new one from the spare room. It was then I noticed something wet on the sheets of the spare bed where Bella sleeps. It was blood. Worse than that, it was blood and bile and a furball… She had thrown up blood.
Off to the vet we went straight away. I spent the next hour and a half tossing and turning in bed, trying to get back to sleep because I needed the rest, but unable to until I had heard back from the vet, terrified I was going to be told she had cancer.
The blood test results came back perfectly clear and healthy, and no sign of any lumps or bumps was detected. She is fine, he suspects gut trouble and she’s on painkillers and antibiotics for a week.
PHEW!
In other news someone farted on the train yesterday morning and it was so bad people were coughing and a few people got up and left. They did it not once, either, but twice! I may have covered my nose with my scarf.
Oh yeah and on Thursday a man screamed “RANGA” in my face at the train station. That may be a post for another day.
On to the week in pics…
My friend Tegan has a jewellery label called iamto’b, I’ve mentioned it before, well last Saturday we did a shoot for her latest range “Crumpled”. I’m in love with the brace bracelet.
On Sunday I had a massive craving for fresh meats, cheeses and fruits so I made up this antipasto plate for myself for lunch. It was delicious. My mum, who is superwoman, made this quilt for a friend. Isn’t it gorgeous? I was having a cranky and I had a headache so the Viking went and got me macarons with coffee. So spoilt!
Tuesday I fell sick and ended up going home from work about midday. Spent the rest of Tuesday in bed and most of Wednesday as well. When I got up Wed afternoon Bella wouldn’t leave my side and was being exceptionally snuggly. In retrospect she was probably trying to tell me she was sick too. My version of beat illness is with fruit cake, orange juice and vegetable soup.I make a great vegetable soup, even if I do say so myself. And that’s more Bella being cute (hey, we had a scare, deal with the pics).
We made orange juice using out juicer – check out how creamy it is! It was a whole different world to bought juice or fresh squeezed juice. There was no pulp and it was super creamy. This is the moment Bella got home from the vet. I had to kiss her and kiss her and kiss her… She was clearly over it. Yet another attempt at recovering from sickness (which worked, by the way, back at work Thursday and feeling back to my normal self today!) broccoli, spinach, cucumber, apple, lemon and parsley.
This week on KK&T Maree looked at our national anthem and patriotism, or lack thereof, in sport. I had a go at someone for sending me an email telling me . Cassie agreed with the refusing of classification of Saints Row 4 on the basis of one of the (NSFW) weapons. Bek gave us her plus size picks currently on sale on ASOS for winter and I wrote up a bucket list of 30 things before 30 which, to make myself feel better, is a list of thins I’ve already done. What a sense of achievement!
The best thing I read outside KK&T was this piece from Kerri Sackville on the best quote ever which inspired me to start keeping a quote book too.
My favourite comment was from Maryann on 30 Things Before 30: My Bucket List

I’m lusting after stationery. ALL the stationery.
And the best thing I saw on YouTube was this video of how to piss off a frog (although I’m assured it’s actually a toad).
How was your week?
