We all need a holiday from time to time, so we’ve decided to take a break from updating the site from today Friday 14th December (that’s today… When did that happen?) restarting on Monday, 7th January.
We’d like to thank you for reading this year, it’s been a big one for us, and we’d like to wish you HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
From starting this site on 1st March, we have added a range of amazing contributors to our team, have covered a stack of topics, from porn, sex and escorts all the way to body image, mental health, style and shopping, celebrities and even the law. We have continuously upgraded the site and have already reached 150,000 hits!
Our top ten posts this year were:
- Is Our Collective Ryan Gosling Obsession Creepy?
- I Quit Sugar (and I hated it)
- Gerard Baden-Clay: Innocent until Proven Guilty
- A Conversation About Organ Donation
- The Rise of the Nerd
- Kate & Wills Honeymoon Pics: A Step Too Far?
- Porn for Women: Feminist Style (SFW)
- All Men Have Long Hair (in defence of the male ponytail)
- Suddenly Single: How I become a single mother. And what I learnt.
- The Story of a Stepmonster
It’s been an amazing journey but we couldn’t have done it without you. Our mission statement when we first built this site was to build a place for people to come and share their passions, their likes, their dislikes, to read and to write and while we took a little detour in the middle we are closer to our original idea than ever before. As more contributors come on board we are continually opening up this site for any kind of writing, from fiction and poetry to opinions and news topics, from anyone as long as the quality is there.
We’ve said it a million times but I will say it once more. This is your space. We built it for you. And in the new year we encourage you to make it yours.
We’ve got two announcements, one sad and one happy: The sad one is that Melinda & Sonia will be leaving our team in the new year to focus 100% on their amazing project Shop Me Chic and we hope you will head over there to read more of their wonderful posts. We have loved having them on the team and completely understand how much time running a website takes up! We wish them all the best.
The happy announcement is Jessica Chapman, who you met yesterday, has joined the KK&T team as a contributor! Welcome Jessica!
Don’t forget to grab one of our manifestos here, and if you haven’t already give us a like on or a follow on .
And for no reason other than it being hilarious, here’s the KiKi & Tea team as dancing elves!
I don’t know what they’re doing with that reindeer either.
Have a great holiday everyone!!
Love, T.
Over to you – What would you like to see in the new year? Any topics you’d like to see covered? Got any post ideas, or anything you want to share? What have you loved, what annoys you? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
