When it comes to buying Christmas presents, a lot of people get stuck on what to get. Especially when it comes to men. So I thought I’d lend a hand with a bit of a gift guide.
Most people can think of DVDs and books themselves, so I’ve tried to go a little outside the box with my suggestions. If in doubt, get a book voucher ;).
Keep checking back for my guides for women & kids.

Rice Cooker or Vegetable Steamer: One year the Viking was given a rice cooker and he was STOKED. Great for anyone who likes to cook, or who doesn’t like to cook and has to, a rice cooker is a time saver and one of those wonderful things people don’t often think of buying for themselves. Plus they’re a lot less expensive than they look. Buy at Victoria’s Basement, David Jones, Kmart, your local supermarket or online at . Price: $15 – $50.

Something interesting like gastronomic chemistry can be fun, but Bill Granger, Adriano Zumbo or Jamie Oliver are pretty safe bets. Price: $20 – $60

Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals. Price: $27
Mortar and Pestle: I have never ever had a man walk into my house who has not immediately walked up to my mortar & pestle and given it a go. Pandemic. Price: $40-60
$100+
Satchel: We all like to carry our things in a nice bag, so why should a man be any different? When he’s going to work he needs a nice looking, good quality bag and to be honest I think men should get a little extra spent on their bag since it’s going to get a lot of use (and probably die a sad death) before he replaces it. If you’re after a bag that’s a bit cheaper try David Jones or Myer for some other brands. Don’t bother with stores like Tarocash, I have found their bags to be about as expensive as Oroton and not as good quality. Available at Oroton or David Jones in store or Oroton online. Price: $100 – $500.

Oroton Finn Companion. Price: $395
Laps in a Race Car: Available at Red Balloon, this is a great one for car enthusiasts. I’ve picked a Lotus Exige (Qld). Also available are laps in Lamborghini and other sports cars, the price for these varies. Price: $130.
