Money. How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
I hate the way it rules our lives,
That we need it to live.
I hate that it’s needed for status,
Needed to have, to take, to give.
I hate that to not have it is embarrassing,
That it makes you feel you’re bad.
That no amount could be enough,
No matter how much you had.
I hate that it’s tied in everything we do,
We can’t survive without it.
I hate that we believe it makes you better,
That even I believe it.
But most of all, I hate the way I don’t hate it.
Not even close.
Not even a little bit.
Not even at all.
