I Am Going Bald

Well, it’s no use denying it anymore… I am going bald. Truth be told, my hair has been receding for the past 15 years or so, but recently it’s crossed the line from “receding” to “balding”. I guess I’m lucky. I’ve avoided baldness until my late-40s – some guys go bald in their 20s! I’ve had a good run, but it’s time to admit defeat. I am turning into a googie-egg. When I saw this story in the SMH this morning - Long-haired Virgin steward wins back his job – I thought to myself, yes, finally a win for men with long hair. I’m 32.  Recently I went to a hairdresser who is not my regular hairdresser. She commented on my hair, asking if my boss minded its colour, and when I said it had never been an issue, she suggested it should be and perhaps I could ‘tone it down’ to something more ‘age appropriate’. Women with short hair less attractive?

Let me tell you something about my hair. IT DOESN’T GROW! All Men Have Long Hair (In defence of the male ponytail)
