Hello my lovely readers and welcome to another edition of Monique’s Celeb Top 5. Luckily I have been on the mend so the lovely T hasn’t needed to intervene this time, but didn’t she do a great job in helping me out last week! Thanks T! It’s been a busy week as per usual in Hollywood and I was so excited about one of the top five stories, that I’ve already spoken about it this week. One of the most interesting stories this week (for me anyway) has been surrounding hair. But to start us off, I have some lovely news along with the funniest magazine cover I’ve seen in ages.

1. Jennifer and Justin Engaged!

Cheers erupted across the world this week (well at the very least, in my head) when news broke that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were engaged. I almost didn’t want to believe it because it feels like there’s always a new story surrounding Jen’s love life, but luckily for Jen, this was no rumour. Justin’s reps confirmed the news in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine saying “Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage”. While we’ve yet to get a glimpse of the ring, according to a “friend“, Justin gave Jen an eight-carat Emerald cut diamond ring with tapered diamond baguettes on the sides. Sounds gorgeous if it’s true. The couple have been together since May 2011 when they met on the set of their first film together Wanderlust. I’m unbelievably happy for them and I hope that now the tabloids stop feeling sorry for “poor Jen”. The best thing I have seen since the announcement was a magazine cover that actress Busy Philipps tweeted a picture of saying “I feel like someone probably got fired over this..”

2. Taylor Swift releases new song (Warning: It’s about a break up)

In the lead up to the release of her fourth studio album, Red, on 22 October 2012, this week we got to listen to the first single off Taylor Swift’s new album and in a surprising twist, it’s a song about a break up. I say this in jest of course because the lovely singer is famous for singing out relationships and has famously written break up songs about ex-boyfriends Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and most controversially, John Mayer. The country crooner is currently dating Conor Kennedy and this has left us all (me) wondering, who on earth did Taylor write “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” about? Joe Jonas is pretty sure it’s not about him, saying that they never tried to date again. Taylor has hinted that the song was inspired by a ‘friends’ experience but I’m not sure I believe her. 3.  Miley’s outrageous hair cut

Miley Cyrus is in love with her new hair cut so much that she just can’t stop tweeting pictures of it. Seriously, at the time of writing this, Miley has tweeted 15 pictures of her new hair since getting the chop on Monday (and yes, I follow Miley on Twitter, what of it?). This drastic new look comes just a week after Miley dyed her hair platinum and had it cut short enough so it could still fit in her trademark bun. Celebrity hairstylist, Chris McMillan, who is responsible for creating “The Rachel”, is the man behind both Miley’s recent changes. So for those wondering, Miley didn’t change her hair by herself though it does kind of look that way. “Experts” have been saying that Miley’s over-sharing of her new look could be the warning signs of a Britney-breakdown, but I think she just really loves her new hair. Apparently fiancé Liam Hemsworth “loves it last night he said I look the happiest he’s seen me in a while he likes seeing my eyes more.” To all the haters out there, Miley had this to say “My dad Billy Ray Cyrus used to tell me, ‘opinions are are like a**holes –everybody has one.’ LOVE my hair. Feel so happy, pretty, and free”. What do you think of the look? I’m not loving it but I think she pulls it off. Just.

4. Michael J Fox and Hilary Duff to return to TV (but not together)

It seems this has been the week to announce that you are returning to TV. While the first story is still rumoured, it would be pretty exciting if it were true. Michael J Fox is rumoured to be making the return to television over a decade after leaving the small screen to focus on fighting Parkinson’s Disease. Reports have surfaced that Fox will star in a comedy currently in development with Sony Pictures Television and set for release in 2013. No reps have commented on the rumours. Another former television star and new mum Hilary Duff tweeted this week that she’ll be returning to our TV screens saying “Ok it’s official! Very excited about my development deal with 20th century fox!! t.v. here I come! ” The show will be a half-hour comedy that Hilary will star in as well as produce.

5. RPatz comforted with ice cream

Robert Pattinson had his first interview this week following the revelation that his now ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart cheated on him with her married director, Rupert Sanders.While making the rounds on television shows, RPatz stopped in to visit Jon Stewart on The Daily Show and the host was lovely enough to offer Rob some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (which is AMAZING) and insisted they were just two girls talking. Both Rob and Jon remained very professional and by professional, I mean they weren’t inappropriate. Jon joked about the break up  saying “Listen, the last time I had a bad breakup, Ben and Jerry got me through some of the tougher times. So, I thought you and I could bond over this and talk about, ‘Boy, you are better off, kick her to the curb. Whatevah!” I was really impressed by the way Rob handled himself, he joked back without being rude or ratting out Kristen. All in all, a really good interview.

The only reason the Olympics were awesome in my opinion? We got to see the reunion of the Spice Girls, check it out if you missed it.
