This Post Ain’t Gonna Write Itself!
July 10, 2012 in Entertainment, Film & TV, Humour, Music, People, Religion, Self, Technology
So, it was that time of the week again where I had to think about what I was going to write about for KiKi & Tea. Sometimes the ideas come easily, sometimes they don’t. I was having one of those “don’t” weeks. Nothing would come to mind. I was topicless. Is topicless a word? Maybe I could write about that? No, that would be dumb. If only I had a random post generator…
30 seconds and one Google search later…wow! These things actually exist!
OK – click “create” - 3 Things I like about Northern Exposure – OK. Well that can’t be too difficult. I liked that show. I liked the girl in it. She was pretty. What was her name again? Too lazy to look it up. Fleishman was the lead guy…he went on to do that Numbers show. And there was the guy who ended up in that movie. You know who I mean. OK, this is going nowhere…
Click “create” again - I despise Lebanon – No I don’t.
Next! - I wanted to learn more about VAST – Nope.
A review of Robert De Niro – Now we’re talking. Here’s my review of Robert De Niro. Robert De Niro is a man. He has a mole on his face. He has made some films, some of which I liked, usually the violent ones. The ones I didn’t like tended to be comedies. He was in Brazil, one of my favourite films of all time. I’ve never met him in real life, so can’t really give you a review of him as a person.
Next! - 8 Things I hate about Boston Public – What!?
Next! - 3 Things I like about Tenacious D – Yes! 1) Jack Black, 2) K-G, 3) errr…why couldn’t they be a trio…?
Next! - 8 Things I like about Moonlighting – I’d struggle to find one… Next! - I despise Republica – I have no idea what that is…Next! - 3 Things I hate about American Express – mmm…I have a corporate AMEX card…better not go there…Next! - My analysis of Equestrian – That doesn’t even make sense.
Next! - 4 Things I like about Crime – OK, interesting. Can it be possible to like crime? Here goes. 1) It provides employment for police, court-workers, judges, lawyers and prison guards. 2) Without crime, some of the best novels, films and TV shows ever made would never have existed. 3) Pierre-Joseph Proudhon wrote that “all property is theft”, so without theft, I wouldn’t have any property. 4) “Thou shalt not steal” is one of the Ten Commandments. Way to go, crime! You made it into the top 10…probably more than once…!
OK – Next! - You know what I love about Bionic Woman? – You bet I do! Lindsay Wagner!
Next! - My analysis of Nirvana – Nirvana were a mildly successful UK-based progressive rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In the 1990s, a different band, this time from Seattle, also named themselves Nirvana. They too were mildly successful. (I much prefer the Foo Fighters.)
Next! - 3 Things I like about Creation Science Vs. Evolution – OK, now this thing is just screwing with me. Maybe I should just try searching for a random topic on Wikipedia…Conserved signature indels…what the?
Nope – I think It’s time to go back to my normal method of writing articles – panic and desperation!
(All topics mentioned were randomly generated in the order they appear in this post. No websites were harmed in the writing of this post.)
How do you find inspiration? Have you ever suffered writer’s block? What would you use a random generator for in your own life? Do any of those topics sound interesting to you?
