I don’t get, how any of this, had any relevance to you getting a pre-paid phone? I mean, why didn’t they just give you a phone on a pre-paid contract? I always thought just about anyone with ID could get a pre-paid phone! That’s just extremely odd.

The complaint to the Telecommunications Ombudsman is not for the customer service person who insulted you, it’s for the telecommunication service provider. The customer service person could have been following protocol which is the insult and also the discrimination you experienced.

If I am guessing correctly who Telco actually is, I think you will find the experience less problematic elsewhere.
