Peeing on Zac Efron & Monique’s Celeb Top 5

June 1, 2012 in Celebrity, Entertainment

Hello my lovelies and welcome to another of my celebrity posts that I know you all love SO much. As usual, much has happened this week so it’s time to get down to business as I run you through the top five pieces of celebrity news for the week. Don’t forget to head over to “the musings of monique” if you want to read more detailed info on “the low down according to mon“. To start off with, I have something that will really make you squirm.

1. Nicole Kidman peed on Zac Efron

I wish that heading was a joke, but it isn’t, so let me repeat it, loudly: NICOLE KIDMAN PEED ON ZAC EFRON. Let it sink in for a bit, moisten you up a bit. This is an actress who is so clearly dedicated to her craft. While promoting her new film The Paperboy at the Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that in the scene where Efron’s character has been stung by a jellyfish, Kidman ACTUALLY URINATED on him as part of the scene. In an interview, Kidman revealed “Yes, I did the scene. That was what Lee wanted. It was in the script. And it’s pretty out there. I mean I love Zac. He’s such a great guy and let me just say I am glad it was him.” But the scene nearly didn’t make it into the film. Director Lee Daniels admitted he nearly pulled the scene from the final cut, but Nicole insisted it stay in: “But, when right before I sent it off to Cannes, I called Nicole at three in the morning. I said, “Nicole, I can’t do it, I’ve gone too far. I can’t put that scene in the movie.” She said, “Lee, you made me pee on Zac Efron, if you don’t put that in the movie, you’re out of your freakin’ mind. I did it! I did it!

2. Check with my bestie

I think this story is absolutely adorable. In a recent interview with InStyle magazine, What To Expect When You’re Expecting star Cameron Diaz revealed that best friend Drew Barrymore’s fiancé, Will Kopelman asked for her blessing before he proposed. Cameron said in the interview “I knew Drew was getting married before she did!” Cameron and Drew have been best friends since they were teenagers and considering Drew’s less than normal relationship with her parents (she was successfully emancipated as a teenager), I thought it was really sweet that Will sought out Cameron’s blessing. What do you think?

3. Jessica Simpson’s little cover girl

She’s only a few weeks old and she’s already gracing the covers of multiple magazines.Jessica Simpson’s baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson (I promise you, she’s a girl) made her first photographic appearance this week as she appeared on the cover of People Magazine, as well as WHO Magazine in two different photos. She’s young but she’s already popular! In the interviews, Jess opened up about her birth experience and how motherhood has strengthened her relationship with baby daddy Eric Johnson. “Eric said it best: when Maxwell was born, it felt like we were born again. Seeing Eric with Maxwell is everything I’ve ever dreamed of: a daughter and the man of my dreams. It’s the most beautiful picture, and I’m in the best place”. Aww, isn’t that cute! The new mumma is still recovering after delivering baby Maxi via a C-Section, and at 9 pounds and 8 ounces, who can blame her!

4. Tribute or Dig? Madonna vs. Gaga

It appears that Madonna has performed a cover of Lady Gaga’s hit song “Born This Way” during rehearsal for her concert in Tel Aviv. A video has surfaces (that you can watch here, but beware of the poor quality) that shows Madonna singing “Express Yourself” before adding in snippets of “Born This Way”. This is actually quite controversial, especially considering there has been some bad blood between the two of them after listeners noticed that “Born This Way” sounded an awful lot like “Born This Way” musically. Madonna even jumped in on the whole thing thing saying “it feels reductive”. Many are calling this a dig at Gaga instead of a tribute. I’m still undecided, but either way, it’s definitely weird.

5. Cynthia Nixon marries girlfriend

A great deal of congratulations are in order for Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon who married long time girlfriend, Christine Marinoni. The actress’ publicist released a statement that said “on May 27, 2012, Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, were legally married in the state of New York. Nixon wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera.” The two have been dating since 2004, became engaged in 2009 and welcomed a child, Max last year (who Christine carried) who joins Cynthia’s two children with former partner Danny Mozes. They were waiting for same sex marriage to be legalised in New York before they got married (obviously, they would have had to go outside New York). Congratulations to the happy couple!

How uncomfortable…

Unfortunately, I don’t have a funny video to send you off into the weekend, but I do have something that just proves that as a journalist, you really need to do your research before interviewing someone. Well known US journalist, Kathie Lee Gifford can be seen repeatedly asking Martin Short about his relationship with his deceased wife as though she’s still alive. Martin handled it so well!

Just a friendly reminder to all you lovely readers, nothing in this or any other celebrity post will be negative. There will be no celebrity bashing here, just up to date stories to keep you in the loop. Any comments made on this post that are negative or disrespectful towards celebrities will be removed.
